Wrotham Park Station was purchased by CPC in October 2009 and included 39,000 branded cattle with associated plant and equipment.

Wrotham Park can run approximately 25,000 breeders or around 47,600 head on its rich riverine flats that are the pick of the Peninsula. Located 350km west of Cairns (or 80km west of its local town of Chillagoe), the station has two major river systems, the Mitchell and the Walsh, that make up integral parts of its carrying capacity ensuring a consistent water supply. The remainder is a wide selection of tributary creeks, black soil flats, tea tree sand ridges and timbered country.

The 44 inches of consistent tropical rainfall per annum helps to turnoff weaners for backgrounding by other CPC properties, making Wrotham Park a significant addition to the company property portfolio.

Simon became manager of Wrotham Park in 2014 and moved there with his wife Kirsty, their son Scott, their twins Max and Charlie and daughter Grace. Before moving to Wrotham Park, the Cobb family lived at Nockatunga for 14 years,
although it was only in December 2012 that Simon became Station Manager and joined CPC. Prior to that, Simon had operated his own business offering helicopter mustering services in south-westQld, based fromNockatunga.
 
Simon grew up in south-west Qld and completed a course in animal production at the Longreach Pastoral College, which was a great starting point for his future in the bush. He became a Station Manager in his 20’s and throughout the last 30 years
he has worked on cattle stations from the Gulf to Central Qld, in roles including contract mustering, yard building and fencing.
 
Simon is a keen horseman and enjoys campdrafting and spending time with his children.
