Jason operates Allawah Brahman Stud along with his wife Haylee and two children Bree and Sarah. He first joined CPC’s Allawah Brahman Stud in November 1999 and moved to the management role in February 2001.
Jason grew up on his family owned property “Yatton” on the Issac River north of Rockhampton in Central Qld. Having lived on, worked on and eventually managed the family’s commercial Brahman-cross cattle/dryland broadacre farming enterprise, he decided to make a career move in 1999 to find more challenges than the family property could provide. Jason remains a partner and shareholder in the Purcell Family Partnership with his three sisters.
Jason has completed an Advanced Diploma in Rural Business Management and continues to develop his skills through various accredited training programs, which included a Brahman study tour to the USA in 2008 visiting some of the best Brahman studs in the U.S and an extensive study tour of South Africa’s leading Brahman studs in 2014.
Jason has been involved in breeding Brahman cattle and cross-bred Black and Red Angus plus Belmont Red cattle for many years. He is very interested and passionate about the Brahman cattle industry and continues to enjoy all the challenges that come with it.
